In addition to writing and photography, Nathan Ward works
as a consultant to aid organizations, tourism boards, outdoor equipment
companies and environmental projects.
Projects
include:
- Creating a national library of adventure images for The Competitiveness
Initiative in Mongolia, a project sponsored by the U.S. Agency
for International Development.
- Evaluating and promoting Eco-lodges in South America.
- Helping create and submit a proposal to the Bureau of Land Management
that details the creation of a new non-motorized mountain trails
park in Salida, Colorado.
- Promoting the use of Biodiesel as an alternative automotive
fuel in Colorado.
- Becoming a founding member of the Morgan Center for Earth Literacy.
- Founding Ice Mountain Publishing to produce adventure guidebooks
and environmental texts.
